How to make a Youtube video.

To make a Youtube video of your corrido follow these instructions. This should allow folks to post recordings in Blogger.
  1. Take a jpg (just from any photo of your project, or a photo related to your project
  2. Take the mp3 you made in audacity. 
  3. Then, use this program: http://www.mp32u.net/uploadjpg.php

Día de Nieve Update

Hey Students- Here are some Snow Day updates:
  • The new DP deadline will be by Monday at the end of class. Here are the DP expectations.
  • I will be conducting reading assessments on Monday and potentially Tuesday in class. I will have you read a couple of stanzas from your corrido. Here is the rubric I will be using to evaluate your reading.
  • Finally, please make sure to fill out the corrido project feedback survey. You will get 10 project points just for completing it by the end of class on Monday.

Here is the rubric I will be using to evaluate your ability to read your corrido. On Thursday or Friday, I will pull you out of class and choose a couple of stanzas for you to read.

¡Prepárense para la exposición el lunes!

Para el principio de clase el lunes, hay que tener:
  • 2 print-outs of your corrido in Spanish and English
    • 1 copy can be on normal paper. This is the copy from which you will read.
    • 1 copy should be nicely mounted for exhibition visitors.
  • 1 nicely mounted copy of your report (in Spanish)
  • Project piece


Exhibition is from 6:30-8pm on Monday, December 10th at the Durango Recreation Center. 

Double-check these things:
  • Does your report have a title? Your corrido?
  • Do you have a Bibliografía on your report?
  • Did you put your name on your report? On your corrido? On your project piece?

Plan for the week of Dec. 3-7th! Ramp up for Exhibition!

el 3 al 7 de diciembre - plan semanal

Here are the options for what you should be working on along with DUE DATES for various pieces. You are in charge of managing your time and being ready for the various due dates.  You should also expect to be doing work outside of class to get these things done. Plan on having some required homework each night until exhibition on December 10th.

Please see Becca if you need help making a plan!
  • Work on revisions to your corridos based on Becca's feedback. Do this BEFORE your meeting with Becca Sign up for your meeting time here.  
  • Work on your project piece. This is due on December 10th at the beginning of class.  
  • If you are done with final products, please plan on working on the following things:
    • Practice reading your corrido
    • Type up your corrido in English!
    • Record yourself reading your corrido and post it on your DP.
    • Update your DP in preparation for POLs. DP expectations are here. 
  • ALL FINAL PRODUCTS due at the Beginning of Class on Monday, Dec. 10th. See the list below for what you'll need at exhibition.
Final copies can be single-spaced; just make them aesthetically pleasing for exhibition by mounting them on construction paper. 
  1. Final report - printed (en español only is fine)
  2. Final corrido - printed (en español AND English!)
  3. Final, refined project piece.
Don't forget: EXHIBITION IS ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 10th at the Recreation Center from 6:30-8pm! 

There is LOTS to do, so if you are feeling like you are "finished with everything," PLEASE check in with Becca immediately.

*Updated DPs will be due by the end of the day on Friday, December 14th. EMAIL me your links by then. You will have Thursday and Friday in class to work on updating your DP.

PROJECT WORK!!!

Hey Students - 

Let's have a VERY productive week working on your Corrido Reports & Project Proposals. The expectation all week is that you are working on the following things in class: 

Project Proposal - DUE 11.15.12 at the Beginning of Class. This can be in English!

Here are the guidelines for your projects & project proposals.
Here is the rubric that will be used to evaluate your projects. 

I will be checking in with each of you during the class period. I will also post a help board on which you can sign up for additional assistance.

Report - DUE 11.16.12 at 8:15am (PRINTED, DOUBLE-SPACED!)

  1. Research. *Remember, if you're counting on online resources, you are highly encouraged to load them when you're at home or when you have internet prior to arriving at school b/c we can't count on it!
  2. Outline. - When you've made some research progress, you should write an outline in English.
  3. Write. - Start writing in Spanish. 50 words a day will get you to 200 by Thursday.  Likewise, 100 words a day starting on Tuesday will get you to 300.  You can do it!
Here are the guidelines for your report (informe).
Here is the rubric that will be used to evaluate your final report.

You have required homework to do every night this week! There are 2 significant deadlines and I am giving you all of the class time to accomplish them, but that doesn't mean that you're off the hook at home. Please take this step seriously so you can produce strong first drafts for me to review over Thanksgiving break.

Hi Students:

I am posting this on the off chance that some of you check my DP before class on Monday. I am encouraging you all to cut and paste the lyrics to the corrido you are studying along w/ the content of web pages that have useful information for research into WORD DOCUMENTS. Alternatively, you could preload a bunch of tabs. This will facilitate forward motion on Monday if the internet is not working or is slow. 

Also, if you read this, please spread the word to your compañeros de clase.

Paquete de Repaso / Review Packet!

Hola estudiantes. Espero que les vaya bien el fin de semana largo. Aquí tienen aceso a un paquete de repaso para el examen de "Todo Recall."

Hi students! I hope the long weekend is going well for you all. Here you have access to a review packet for the Total Recall exam on Friday. The review packet is posted in the "Todo Recall" folder on my 2012-2013 Spanish 2 Google Site. There is also an answer key there (called "CLAVE_paquete de repaso). The final page of the packet contains links to many online activities for practicing vocabulary and grammar.

I will be giving you time to work on this in class - specifically on Wednesday and Thursday in class. It will be time for you to focus on your own weaknesses and zero in on them AND to check your work. I will not be collecting this packet, but I will be expecting you to work on Spanish review during class all week.

Friday is the test. 

***Please note: I will not have office hours on Thursday as I will be out of town on Thursday and Friday. If you have questions about Spanish, you should ask Dave. I will give him a copy of the Todo Recall test as well so he can answer questions about it if you run into any confusion.***
